Adelaide Afrobeat Collective @ The Wheaty

At its essence, the collective draws inspiration from the Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti and the vibrant dance rhythms found in his Nigerian venue, Afrika Shrine. The diverse combination of West African percussion, tribal singing, and funk contributes to the global allure of Afrobeat. This innovative musical form evolved into a powerful sound that embodies themes of empowerment, liberation, and worldwide consciousness.
